Further up the coast the iconic Durdle Door is only a 10-mile drive and a must for anyone in the area whether you are making a quick pitstop or spending the whole day. Coming in through the front door your eye will immediately be drawn to the period stone fireplace with fantastic detailing where a functioning wood burner now makes itself at home. Facing the lounge area the wood burner is not only an attractive feature but a truly atmospheric addition in winter as it throws a rosy glow across the room. Flop on the sofa with one of the many books provided or inhale the hot wisps of steam from a freshly brewed cuppa. Sporting an open-plan design the downstairs living area has an intimate social feel whilst still providing plenty of space to spread out. On the far side of the living area a dining table sits next to the window ready for dinner time or a game of cards. Located a very short drive (4 miles) from the breath taking Abbotsbury Swannery which provides home to 600 mute swans (which you can feed if you attend at feeding time). The Swannery provided inspiration to ballerina Anna Pavlova when she was working on her movements for Swan Lake and parts of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince were also filmed there. To get into this beautiful property walk up a couple of steps and through the porch and you ll find yourself in the wooden floored hall.
